Winter Home Prep Course:

Preparing your home for Winter!
Living along the Wasatch Mountain Range lends itself to a particularly snowy and cold winter.  And whether you are a winter sport enthusiast or just trying to make it back to summer, there are a few helpful things you can do to help bring warmth into your home!
First adding accent throws or blankets onto you sofa’s, sectional’s and bed’s.  Any place where you want to be “cozy” add a throw, not only will this be used (which is a good thing) but it will also bring a winter warmth into that room.

Your bedroom should not be overlooked. I know everyone loves those bright and fun colors of summer but let’s replace these colors with some deep reds, pumpkin oranges and some hazelnut browns.  These colors will go perfect with the smells of cinnamon, cherry cobbler, and pumpkin pie!  Add some blankets maybe a few festive quilts to add just the right touch to your master bedroom or one of your guest rooms to make everyone feel welcome!

Also, another great way to pass the blizzard filled days is to make sure you have a good amount of activities, whether it be sleds (for outside activities), movies, board games, card games etc.  Not only are they great for the whole family, they are a welcomed addition to hot cocoa with marshmallows and peppermint sticks or hot cider with cinnamon sticks! Now, doesn’t that sound nice?

Now, as it pertains to your holiday dining room; make sure you layer the table! A table cloth with a runner is always in good fashion, then add a festive place mat so your setting has depth.

These are just a few tips for your home, but they will be a welcome addition throughout the winter months!

Fall Furniture Market Special

Having just returned from the Fall Market in High Point, North Carolina, we wanted to take you through what a typical week is like in a furniture mecca.

First: Let me explain to you the sheer size of the High Point furniture market.  It covers nearly 13 million square feet and is contained in 180 buildings.  This place is not for the faint of heart.  And, as I was a rookie to market, I was told there is only one thing that you must abide by when packing, never bring a new pair of shoes to market, bring only ones that will allow you to walk for ten hours a day while remaining comfortable.  I followed the rule, and even with comfy shoes, your feet do get a little tired no matter what!

Now lets get to what truly matters, the new and beautiful pieces we found at market!

This piece has the elegant beauty of a mid-century modern classic, combine that with bold lines and you see why we immediately fell in love with this sofa and chair.

This pattern was the fabric of market, we found it everywhere, and you can see why, it instantly allows a piece to mesh with a multitude of colors!  Very very versatile fabric.

These pieces floored us, the walnut burl wrapped sofa and chair had the entire market abuzz.  Don't worry they will be safely placed in our showrooms soon so everyone can take a look!

We were definitely on the hunt for beds this fall, and we found some great ones.  The fabric headboard allows this minimalist bed to shine with anything placed around it!

This sectional has elegant lines, combine it with beautiful two tone upholstery and you can see why we had to show it to you!

At the end of the week everyone deserves a fashionable break in a one of a kind lounger!

Well that is a glimpse of our week at High Point, continue to read our blogs and follow us on facebook to keep up to date on what exactly we are getting in our showrooms!
